Has it really been 5 days since I last blogged. Goodness me. Not good. See? Here’s the problem I have. It’s not a problem of forgetting I have a blog, it’s a problem of prioritizing my time to actually blog. Hmmmm….How do I fix this ‘problem’?
I told my friend that I was going to make a list. A list of all the things I need to get done. Um…that list became over a page long in about 5 minutes. So, I’m thinking it may need to be tweaked a bit. Maybe a list that is a little more realisitic.
At the top of that list was: 1. Blog 2. List new designs 3. Clean out my baby boy’s room (well, technically not a baby anymore, but a girl can dream, right?)
So, tonight I’m proud to announce that I’ve crossed off two outta three things. Henry’s room cleaned out – Check. New blog post done – Check. Ahhh…that feels great!
Here are some random pictures of things that were keeping me busy since I last blogged.
We also celebrated my mom’s birthday this weekend. She’s one of the lucky ones to have her birthday on Valentine’s day. I’m not so sure she ever thought it was that great. Birthdays and Valentine’s always celebrated together? Kinda like those Christmas babies… right? Not all it’s cracked up to be.
That about sums up my weekend/week so far. How about yours?
This is the time of year when Valentine treasuries are being curated all over the Etsy community. I’ve been happy to have some of my creations included in them. This one was particularly lovely this evening. It featured my ‘i love you’ envelope necklace. Click HERE to view the treasury.
This Valentine’s Day has me thinking about what I want to do for the sweet little loves in my life. The big one and the two little ones. But what should I do this year? What can I do that’s different from the other years? Buy a heart shaped box of chocolates? Probably. Buy a couple cards? Most likely. Make these gorgeous Sweet Pies? I think I may have to give them a try.
These are from Serena’s blog (aka. The Farm Chicks) and she has step by step instructions on making them. Now, let’s see if I can do it too.
Sweet treats may be the way to my own heart, and to my boys, but my little ones really, really love to do crafts. They get so excited when I tell them it’s time to get the scissors, glue sticks, and paper out. So, this year I might have to give these a whirl!
Um….how adorable would these be????
Now, I think it may be time for some Customer Love! I’m going to be giving away one of these necklaces tomorrow afternoon!
Here’s how to enter my giveway:
~ Leave a comment on my blog, telling me what your favorite gift to receive for Valentine’s Day is. Is is chocolate? Jewelry? A day of shopping with no kids? 😉
I’ll randomly pick a winner tomorrow afternoon between 3-4 pm, PST. Have fun!
The past couple days have felt a little like Spring around here. It’s been sunny, in the 50’s and has been wonderful. I got out and weeded our yard this afternoon while the boys played with sand, trucks, and slides. I could tell they were loving this weather too.
While raking some leaves and weeds, I looked around our yard and thought what I think every year, ‘I will plant a garden this year’. Every year comes and goes with only a lonely tomato plant in a pot with some herbs next to it. Will this be my year?
Thankfully, I have Pinterest this year! Here are some of my pins that I’ll be referring to this Spring.
This is a neat diagram found on Pinerest but is originally from Boyslife.org. I may need to check out this website a little more for my boys.
Last, there’s a fun website to help us figure out when to plant what. It called sproutrobot.com. Simple enter in your zip code and it will tell you what the plant when. Now come on, I can do this, right?
What favorite gardening sources do you love? What are your favorite gardening stores, blogs, books? I would love to hear!
Tonight we said goodnight to our little two-year old. He’ll wake up a 3-year-old and oh how bittersweet that is. For us, two-year olds are fun. We don’t have the terrible twos. They’re perfect little people who love to learn, explore, have fun, yell, smile, cuddle, run, eat. I’m sad to see the twos go away.
Honestly, I’m afraid of the three’s! Oh, those troublesome three’s. It’s the time of independence. They want to do it their way. They want to do everything on their own, except the things you want them to do on their own. Forget about it.
‘Bring me your shoes, Henry’. Nothing. Nada. Zip.
‘Henry, bring mama your shoes’. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Smirk. This is where you try not to laugh and think how cute they are.
‘Henry, do you want to go bye-bye? Then bring me your shoes’.
You know the drill. But, those
troublesome terrific three’s can be oh so fun. We are looking forward to what they bring for him and for us.
This weekend we celebrated him. We had a Toy Story 3 party. Thanks to the magical world of Pinterest, I doubt birthday parties in our house will ever be the same again. I love the wonderful ideas you can get from Pinterest. Here are some things I did to help bring some creativity to the table.
Please don’t point out the obvious spelling of ‘BITHDAY’ on the Etch-A-Sketch. I totally meant to do that. Oh, and I totally meant to start to spell ‘Etch’ wrong. Oops.
Fun, easy way to make juice boxes fun. Just grabbed an image from online and made them in a couple minutes.
Gummi Soldiers. Green Apple Flavor. 5 pounds. They are currently in the process of being pawned off on innocent neighborhood children. All their parents love me.
The birthday boy. Gotta love a balloon with ‘Woody’ drawn on him.
Love, love, love our little 2 year old. Thanks for being one of the best 2 year olds a mom could ask for.
Remember when I used to blog? At least once in a while? Ya, me too. Been feeling the need to start up again. Not sure why. Maybe it’s due to the fact my 2 year old is turning 3 on Monday and it’s got me thinking I’d better document more. Document the little things that are going on while my kids are young. Whether it’s all about jewelry (my boys will know all about what a girl wants by the time they hit the dating scene), what we’re doing for the day, fun crafts we’re working on, or just pretty things I’ve found on Pinterest, I think I’m going to ‘try’ to share these things again. So bear with me. No promises, yet.
